I'm starting on the self hosted homelab journey. So far, I have docker set up, with Portainer and Jellyfin running nicely, and accouts set up for my wife and kids. I'd like a simple dashboard for available apps so I can give them one link, and they will see everything that they can use on the server, and get to the app (e.g. Jellyfin) with a click. I plan to add additional things like Mealie and stuff in coming weeks. For context, nothing will be exposed outside the LAN, as I have a nice easy Unifi setup so everything will be accessed via teleport VPN if outside the home environment. I don't want unnecessary security headaches.
I'm looking at Homepage at the moment after searching around and reading, so will experiment with that. Reviews and opinions seem very skewed to tinkering and homelab hobbying though, and not so many appear to review how it works from a spouse (and family) acceptance factor perspective. For me, the hobby side is great, but what will make it feel most rewarding is if I can put something together that my family actually find useful.
So, is Homepage the best thing for my proposed use? Are there better options?
