Need advice: UTD MS ITM vs University of Twente BIT (with pre-master)

Hey everyone,

I’m really confused between these two options and would love some honest advice from people who know the current market situation.

Background:
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from India
- Experience in project management , analytics, and operations
- Worked at TVS, Zoomlion, Sutherland etc.
- Interested in business analytics / product / consulting / IT management kind of roles rather than hardcore software development

Options:

  1. The University of Texas at Dallas – MS in Information Technology & Management (ITM)
  2. University of Twente (Netherlands) – MSc Business Information Technology (BIT), but with a required pre-master

My concerns:

UTD:
- Very expensive overall
- But US salaries/opportunities are obviously higher
- Current US job market + sponsorship situation seems scary from what I read online
- Not sure how risky it is right now for international students

Twente:
- Lower overall cost and safer immigration pathway
- But there’s a pre-master, so extra time + cost
- Salaries in Netherlands are lower than US
- Don’t know how good BIT job opportunities are after graduation

What I want to know:
- Which option has better ROI in 2026?
- Is UTD ITM worth the risk currently?
- How difficult is the Twente BIT pre-master actually?
- Which country is realistically better for international students right now?
- Which one would you choose in my situation?

Would really appreciate honest opinions from current students/alumni. Thanks!
