Absolute BEAST Part two!

Okay, to follow up on the last post;

  1. The Hercules does feel like it has more power than the Bauer; it could simply be the mass of the wire wheel making it feel that way.
  2. No, I will not post links to the wheel...if you cannot find it on your own on Amazon, then perhaps you shouldn't be using it! That thing is dangerous!
  3. The 40-grit wheel on the Bauer did a better job with light surface rust.
  4. The Hercules and the wire beast did better on the heavy scale and paint.
  5. I do think both have a bit of a brake, but perhaps it is just how those operate as it spins down quickly but doesn't truly brake, so I don't know for sure. I was going to do a comparison, but the Bauer was taking too long, and I switched to the Hercules with the wheel. The cart top took about 5 minutes.

Absolute BEAST!

I found this curled wire wheel on Amazon. The Hercules Surfacing tool with this wheel is an absolute beast when taking rust, scale, and paint from metal.

A word of caution, though; aim it off to your side because when you hold it naturally, it kicks everything towards you! It also kicks up so much stuff that you need to wear safety goggles, a face shield, and some type of dust protection...you will be in a cloud of whatever unless you have some serious airflow, which I will do next time.
