Privacy blinds

QLD

My partner and I have recently moved into this house. These are the only blinds installed - you can see right through them at night. This photo has been taken from the footpath/road. It is obviously very open and there is absolutely no privacy. It looks on directly into our living room and dining area.

We have asked the REA if the owner would install a privacy blind but they have said no as it’s classed as an ‘improvement’.

Looking at the RTA that looks quite inaccurate, and it doesn’t appear to meet minimum housing standards.. but I want to go about this the right way

Am I being unrealistic on this?

What are our options?

What should we do?

On a side note, we currently have about x5 maintenance requests in place, all of which have been in for over a month - including an electrical/safety concern that hasn’t been looked at due to ‘delays’. We have escalated and have been told the REA will follow up.
