Why is “Taffy was a Welshman” still a popular nursery rhyme?

I learned about this derogatory song and looked it up, expecting it to be totally antiquated for actual children. but i saw covers as recent as 2025 on both YouTube and music apps, with colorful pictures and modern instrumentals obviously appealing to children. what the fuck is up with this? is this what Americans and English are still teaching their children?

I forgot my theory about the Department of Abnormalities

SCP used to absolutely be my life. after reading hundreds of SCPs I latched onto the DoA and combed through every article. it got to the point where I had a full unified theory of what it was with little to no assumptions, based on logic sourced from the article, that tied into my larger headcanon timeline. I almost wrote a whole series to do with the Department of Abnormalities. then I moved on from SCP for a few months and I can’t fucking remember a shred of it 😭😭

honestly this is really funny to me I was sure I had “solved SCP” and then I just deadass forgot it all

Yellow Aster Butte, Washington, United States

Went back in October. The first stretch is a deceptively long forest path which winds up the mountain with virtually no view. Not pictured is the area after, with wooden footpaths over frozen ponds. Pretty icy for such a short trail (7 miles round trip with some significant uphill). Latter half is absolutely breathtaking, everything I love about PNW. There’s a long series of bends, each having a distinct flavor—wild flowers, boulders, snowy slope. Ended up at a little frozen pond and overlook but had to turn back before the absolute summit due to my companion being out of shape. I hear if we kept going we could see into Canada.

by far my favorite hike yet.
