I wish I had this when I was doing GCSEs. It would’ve saved me so many marks.

Back then I genuinely thought essays were about sounding smart and using good quotes.
Reality is, examiners don’t care about that. They care about whether you’re actually analysing.

Most people lose marks in the same way:

  • retelling the story instead of analysing it
  • dropping a quote and moving on
  • writing paragraphs that don’t clearly prove a point

And the worst part is you don’t realise it while writing. You only find out after, when it’s too late.

That’s exactly what this fixes.

EssayMateAI basically sits with you while you’re writing and keeps you on track:

  • what is this paragraph actually trying to prove?
  • have you explained your quote properly?
  • does this link back to the question?

It’s like having a strict teacher next to you calling you out when you start waffling.

Important: it doesn’t write anything for you.
You still do the work. It just helps you think properly so your answers actually score marks.

A lot of uni students (KCL, UCL, etc.) are already using it because they realised this gap too… which kind of tells you everything.

If you’re aiming for top GCSE grades, this is honestly one of those tools you don’t want to ignore.

It’s called EssayMateAI. Try it for free and you’ll see what I mean.

I’m a student building something to help with essays, would love your honest feedback

Hey everyone,

I’m a student and I’ve been working on a small tool to help with essay writing, especially for personal statements and supplements.

When I was writing, I found the hardest part wasn’t ideas, it was turning them into something that actually sounded structured, reflective, and strong enough for applications. A lot of tools either just write everything for you (which didn’t feel right) or don’t really help when you’re stuck.

So I tried building something that works more like a guide than a generator.

It’s called EssayMateAI. It doesn’t write your essays for you, instead it:

  • helps you structure your ideas from your own experiences
  • guides you as you write so it actually sounds coherent and reflective
  • pushes you to think a bit deeper rather than just filling space

It’s still super early and I’m just trying to make something genuinely helpful for students going through this process.

If anyone here is currently working on essays and would be open to trying it (free), it would honestly mean a lot. Even if you try it for 10 minutes and tell me it’s bad, that’s helpful.

No pressure at all, just thought I’d share.

Thank you 🙏
