Wanting to become a pilot in NYC.

As the title states I live in NYC, I’ve decided aviation is the path I want to take. It’s been on my radar for years and I’ve really started to lean into in within the past 12 months. I’d like to get my bachelors so I’m looking into Vaughn and Farmingdale for this. I’m aware of the hiring shortage so things may be a bit skewed right now, but I’m curious of people’s experiences at these schools and who’s one they think would make the most sense. Vaughn is considerably more expensive, but I’d have to dorm for Farmingdale. My parents are willing to pay for it all so I have some freedom of choice. Just want to hear people’s thoughts.

Thanks Everyone

Aircraft Mechanic or Pilot

I’m in NYC and I was Lucky enough to be born into a position where I can choose what I want to do without debt. I have been looking into aviation for about 2.5 years now. I’m 17 and just want to hear people’s experiences on both sides. I value the relatively quick career start of a AT, but the pay ceiling of being a pilot. I understand the extra money would be great, but I’m wondering if it’s worth passing on the opportunity for a “simpler life” that comes with being a mechanic. I understand that both these jobs require high effort especially in the beginning and discipline wouldn’t be an issue for either. I just want to hear people’s experiences and any advice. As well as how important more money is after 100k. I’ve rambled but thanks everyone!!!
