My experience with JohnRoss and my tongue split
I got my tongue split on February 28 with JR.
While some things have gone well, there are some things about my healing and interaction with him that did not.
When we were talking about the tongue split, he gave me some very good advice on my aftercare and what o would need for it. I was well prepared.
On the day of the split, i was really nervous, but he put me at ease and explained what he would do during the split, and what the next week would be like.
The following week sucked, but i was mentally prepared for it to be worse, so I was able to soldier through it.
The first two days and the last few days were the hardest. i had to numb my tongue with Popsicles every time i would take my pills or drank liquids.
The first thing that went wrong:
When it was time to remove the stitches, they had cut into my tongues, due to the swelling, and later on i learned that the stitching was done poorly. I also had what looked like a divot in the bottom of my tongue
Someone who is very experienced with body mods, and knows what is good and bad work, told me that i should take the stitches out at 8-10 days, and not 6 days like JR instructed. I trusted JohnRoss, and figured 6 days wad enough.
She also told me from the stitches, that she thought the split had been done by Dana Marie (stay the fuck away from her btw)
Later on i realized that i really should have waited 8 days, due to the amount of regrowth I had. From the experience of others, the regrowth is much less if you wait a full 8-10 days.
The pictures are from 2 weeks after the split, and 6 weeks after.
Today, I talked to JohnRoss about what happened, and he got pretty angry and defensive. I did not feel listened to and it made think that there was something wrong with me for how i felt.
All this to say, getting my split with him was a mix of good and bad. But overall i would not recommend him for a tongue split.
I'm going with Dony Malakara for my resplit.
