I’m finally able to get away from my abuser and reported him to the police. I am within the statute of limitations, it happened almost 2 years ago.

The police officer wrote down what happened and I told them that I have a videos and photos of the incident. It has a clear time stamp on it and my abuser knew he was being recorded.

They only told me they will write up what I said and gave me a number to a domestic violence advocate. I had my evidence ready on a flash drive and wonder why they didn’t want to take it when I asked them if they wanted it.

I’m worried they’re just going to overlook my reporting and not investigate it.
