Tell me why my prof spent over an hour of our first lecture yapping about how anti racist, pro DEI, pro lgbtq, pro feminist, pro indigenous they are, you name it. Deadass started apologizing to us for having white ancestors. And like i’m not against any of those things but it gets to a point. It’s always the white professors too in my experience and as a gay woman of color myself, I’m actually so tired of it. Like you don’t need to prove yourself to us, we get it, you’re woke. I’m woke too but it gets to a point where it feels extremely performative and white savior-ish. Like please stfu and teach us what you were hired to teach.

I genuinely haven’t the slightest what is going on here. What reaction is this? Why is the answer drawn like that? This question actually has me bamboozled.
This was a past exam question with answer key that asked us to predict the product given the reactants by the way.
Hi everyone I was just wondering if someone could answer my questions about this.
When it comes to regioselectively in electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions, I’m having a little trouble knowing where to place the incoming group when there are multiple conflicting substituents in different places on the ring. Are there any specific rules for which directing group ultimately dictates the regioselectivity? Not just for this specific problem but for these types of questions in general where there are multiple substituents. Also, could someone tell me if my answer is correct or not?
Thanks so much I appreciate yall
