Advice from the seasoned RV people
My husband (73) and I (67 today lol) have been looking at used Class C RVs for about 8 or 9 months. Know not to go to dealers like Blue Compass or Camping World after dealing with the ones in our state (SC).
Criteria:
-Less than $60k because we are paying cash. $50k or under would be better
-11 year old grandson desperately wants his own space in an over cab bed. He and his little sister will be traveling with us about 2 or 3 weeks out of a year.
-needs to be able to tow a 4Dr Jeep so I'm looking for a 7500# tow rating just to be on the safe side
-bed that can be used without extending slides
-something we can live in for about 3 months out of the year and is about 32' or less
-negligable, or preferably, no water damage
All the rest is gravy but those listed are non negotiable
We have found a 2016 Jayco Greyhawk MV29 with 50k miles on it that I really like. Drives beautifully. Nicer than my 2004 F150. Has a 2024 Colman Mach AC/heat pump with soft start, reupholstered all seating(2023), Roadmaster and Helwig upgrades to suspension and steering. We have an NRVTA inspector coming out Tuesday to look at it. It seems very well maintained and clean but I have concerns about the age. They are wanting $50k after some serious negotiations-came down $7k. Is that too much for a clean, nicely maintained RV that is 10 years old? Is 2016 pre Thor?
Appreciate everyone's input
