So I got my hands on another PNV 57e for around 80€, previous owner say it was broken at the moment and he dont know why but it worked well a few years ago and stored always in an padded bag - so no exposure. He tryed to fix it himself and started to unscrew the batterybox but failed and broke it, plus damaged one of the cables... I gave it a shot and recieved a PNV 57e in good shape but with a total mess of cable, batterybox, the cover of the batterybox was missing and the switch was broken .... I clipped all the cables and started with the simplest solution - put a new switch, fresh 9V connetctors and fresh batterys on it and to my surprise it turned on and worked like its the late 1980s🥳

But than I was like... "Hmm you always wanted to try to build a helmet adapter and setup"... I own another PNV 57e but in very good shape and always wanted to keep that in original condition but with my new one... Lets try!

So here you can see my fun little project and result off building an new batterybox and helmet adapter out of an AliExpress PVS 31 batterypack repro, some cables, shrink tubing, velcro tape, an 3D printed adapter and an AliExpress Rhino Mount Repro. 🤝 its version 1, I plan on building it again with better tools, but my rescources are limited at the moment because my toolbox with all my good stuff and my drill, saw and soldering equipment got stolen a few weeks ago 😤😭

A buddy of mine had some leftover high-quality multicam camo net lying around and asked me if I could make him a simple cover for his backpack — so I did.

It’s very simple: you just need some scissors, camo net, a lighter, a cord stopper, and some type of cord like 550 cord—or in my case, some other color-matching cord.

Cut the net so it’s 15–20 cm bigger than the pack in every direction. Lay the cord around the pack to see how long it needs to be, leaving some extra for the cord stopper, and then cut it to length. Thread the cord through the net in the shape of the pack, ending at the bottom. Test fit it, readjust as needed, and cut off the corners. Put the ends of the cord through the cord stopper, and you’re ready to go! 🤝
