Best 9.9hp outboard motor
Which brand of 9.9hp motor would you all consider to be the best?
Don’t care as much about fuel efficiency, I’m thinking weight, warranty, ease of DIY maintenance, etc

Looking to buy a 8hp or 9.9hp outboard motor
I’m curious to hear people’s experiences ordering online, looks like there’s motors available at OnlineOutboards, Defender Marine, Overtons, and Camping World
Which have you all used and what are your experiences?
BWCA rules interpretation question for you all
I’m setting up a small aluminum boat and am hoping to get some motor use permits in future years
Let’s say I wanted to go to one of the 10hp limit lakes, and I had a trolling motor plus a 9.9 hp gas motor on the boat
The rules state “On these lakes, the possession of one additional motor no greater than 6 HP is permitted, as long as motors in use do not exceed 10 HP”.
Now the “in use” part is tripping me up. Is “in use” a motor actually powered on and running? Or could Forest ranger interpret “in use” as the motor being mounted on the transom of the boat
It’s also complicated by the fact that trolling motor power is measured in pounds of thrust, not horsepower.
What do you all think? I could just get an 8hp motor to be safe
They stopped making outboards a few years back, I’m seeing a few 2019-2020 Evinrudes for sale near me.
Wondering if parts are hard to find or if anyone has had any issues working on used Evinrudes?
