H. pylori positive with no symptoms. What would you do?
Hey everyone, looking for some experiences and perspectives because I'm not sure what to do.
I got tested for H. pylori because a family member tested positive and a doctor suggested I get screened, even though I haven't had close contact with them. I didn't ask for the test myself and I have no symptoms whatsoever. Honestly, zero classic gastric symptoms: no heartburn, no acid reflux, no stomach pain, no nausea, no frequent burping, no bloating after eating, no weight loss, no anemia or unusual fatigue. I eat normally, I work out, I feel fine overall.
I did the C13 urea breath test and it came back positive, with a value of 65.5‰ (anything below 0.5‰ is considered negative). So it's not a borderline result, it's clearly positive.
What's confusing me is that the result really surprised me because, again, I have no symptoms whatsoever. And now I have to decide what to do.
Could anyone please share if they've had a similar experience, or suggest what I should do? Any experience, data, or perspective is welcome. Thanks!
