GS newbie here.

Let's say a monster is down. Should I deliver two short hits and then try to fully charge a TCS? Or is it better to do a fast first hit, shoulder bash, and then charge the TCS? Or maybe the fastest way: fast first hit > slinger burst > TCS?

Another example: If I know I don't have time for a TCS, should I deliver two fast hits (1st and 2nd, uncharged) or just fully charge the 1st hit?

I know it all comes down to the opening and the damage I want to deal before the monster moves, but there are so many options that it gets confusing—especially when I’m not going for a TCS. I understand I should TCS as much as possible, but it’s easy to misjudge the window and get hit. I feel like I should use the 1st and 2nd hits more often, because "TCS or bust" can be a pretty frustrating way to play against fast monsters.
