Kilt for the US southwest?

Hello Kilt Enthusiasts!

I've been thinking of getting a kilt for several years. My want of a kilt increased when I moved to the middle of the desert. Does anyone have an opinion for how they might perform in 110F (43.5C) weather with a relative humidity to rival grandma's ashes?

For my first kilt, I don't want to spend a lot of money (I see many listings for $250+). However, I am certainly willing to go above $40, which seems to be the starting price point for... so many kilt listings on Amazon. I think the $40 kilts are meant to be worn 1-2 times a year, like a costume. I'd like one I could wear on a regular basis, just to get a feel for it, without it falling apart like a cheap Halloween costume.

Thanks!
