Rules for thee, Not for me
Andrew’s reaction has (maybe?) been amplified for comedic reasons… BUT we did see his potential for jealous outburst when Ashley was going on a date with douchebag, so… (Now how will Ashley use this against him…)

TCOAAL is a story where unexpected things happen (I feel like that’s most stories, but still).... Which of these unexpected moments or plot beats are YOUR favorite?
(The kisses from Andrew and Ashley in Shots & Such were definitely unexpected for me, given how distressing the route was beforehand and how opposed the duo seemed to each other (though small moments compassion did happen), but it works well because this moment where the duo having their feelings somewhat revealed and Andrew’s inability to commit to them then serves as the basis to make the route even more horrific and tragic, which works very effectively for the story of the route overall, even if it is distressing…(also the CGs are great))
Ashley feels terrible, you gotta cheer her up buddy
Oh yeah happy mother’s day, my actual mom is really really good, is probably why I find Renee so abhorrent by comparison
Ummm…her head makes for suitable kicking material (okay for a real one… the mistreatment of Andy and Leyley isn’t COMPLETELY her fault, having a unsupportive family herself and only being 15 when having Andy are factors…………… but yeah she still sucks at motherhood)
(Also my actual mom is really great so happy mother’s day to her!)
Sure the Grandma isn’t 100% perfect, but considering that she is in an unbelievably shit situation in having to navigate around the Grandpa’s horribleness and Renee’s terrible parenting, I’d say she’s, at the very least, alright in my book, and seems much more caring than Renee (Trying to give Andy an out on the punishment by letting him reflect alone in his room, offering him an extra large breakfast the next day; not much of a bar, but still). Happy mother’s day to her!
(And yes, Mother’s Day includes celebrating anyone who’s a mother, including Grandma’s)
(Also I swear if the Grandma turns out to be horrible in a future episode-)
Basically any version where Ashley looks different, including in talking sprites (Normal Ashley, Teen Ashley, Child Ashley) or CGs (ex. Burial Questionable Ashley, Teen Princess Shirt Ashley, Midsummer Devlog Art Ashley, etc.), or any others, I guess the tar soul/entity Ashley from the Ep3A car vision would also count… (Fan art by wakuwakuk_mikan on twitter: https://x.com/wakuwakuk_mikan/status/2052623290590732689)
The situations these two dumbasses end up in… (similar to how Ashley tricked the hitman in Ep2) (Also if anyone wants the Ashley sprite let me know I guess)
Do you want to parent a hollow emotionally reserved serial liar OR an extremely emotional self loathing brat? (PS pls try NOT to make this…weird)
If Douglas wasn’t a complete doormat, just more of a non interventionist… he knows, even if the siblings argue during the day, that night is when peace (and cuddling) occurs
While TCOAAL is a psychological horror with many dark and twisted moments, there is also some funny and absurdest stuff as well. This humor is often in optional dialogue and interactions, but also sometimes finds its way into the main story through absurd or unusual situations. Which main story moment in TCOAAL is the funniest to YOU?
(I personally like the accusation scene at the beginning of Burial route, just the absurdity of Renee calling Andrew out, him freaking out, and then Ashley’s funny and cute reaction (with the cg also being adorable) is just hilarious to me)
We’ve all probably been there…although for this scenario it’s also awkward for other reasons in particular…
This is something that bothered me at first, but comments from some others pointing to the spur of the moment events made it make more sense, since it seems like this is a route that might stay in the game (though who knows, maybe the next major update will change things…)
(There’s also the discussion of Ashley’s potential own repressed intimate feelings toward Andrew, and how she likely doesn’t like having them dredged up and then disregarded/rejected, and if that played a factor here, but that’s it’s own whole can of worms that’s a lot more blurry…)
I wish I could be that comfy ever, it’ll never happen :( ……………….. (Fan art by coltemonhika on twitter: https://x.com/coltemonhika/status/1798939700448895431)
literally (idk where this idea came from lmao)
This is actually a revamp of a very old edit of mine…. Why did I make this? Uh……….. It’s been a year since the last major chapter release? (Does that excuse still work?)
(For the slightly more well adjusted people… maybe you can discuss what scenarios would happen if a bodyswap occurred? It seems like it might be possible with taking souls in and out of the body… idk)
Basically, single scenes or moments that best show off or represent Andrew and Ashley’s characters and their dynamic as a whole. Obviously scenes throughout the story show bits and pieces of their dynamic, but what are some scenes that get the closest to bringing it all together?
(One scene I’d go with is the Decay Vision where, with Bullets, Ashley chooses to let Andrew kill her. The whole chase and Andrew trying to kill Ashley shows their dysfunction, Ashley’s taunting “god you suck” and “I had fun!” shows their back and forth, Andrew’s kissing face and statement that he’ll “see you in a bit” show his twisted affection, and Ashley accepting her death instead of killing Andrew combined with the pink heart reaction shows their codependency and that, even when things are the most fucked up, they can’t live without eachother. There’s a reason why going with the other option of shooting Andrew leads to the fucked up and broken Shots and Such route, which is mostly the worst of their dynamic…)
He doesn’t kiss Ashley because she’s his sister, he kisses Ashley because she’s Ashley, the only person who ever meant anything to him (who just happens to be his sister)
