Manufacturing Engineer Typical Day?

Im curious to see what a typical day for a manufacturing engineer is. Is it a lot of hands on stuff, or documents, report writing, etc?

I heard very good things about Boeing. I am an engineer but have never worked in manufacturing (I'm in design)

Any tips to stand out? It is in a city that does not have a lot of boeing opportunities, so I am assuming it is selective.

Do major firms work on fridays?

I got an email for a cool position and was stoked as an entry level engineer to have the opportunity to speak with a recruiter.

It was scheduled for today, although I sat in the meeting room for 30 minutes and nobody came. I tried following up via email 15 minutes into the scheduled meeting, but never got a response.

Im gutted because this was scheduled earlier in the week and I was looking forward to it.

Former Students how can we see the graduation date?

I am in the midst of applying for jobs. I know I graduated (well at least completed my degree in december 2024) but I don't actually know the date. I am doing a background check now and they are asking for the specific date. Is 12/1/2024 okay?

I no longer have access to my gt email to go on the portals

Does the day you book your HR screening matter?

I received an email from an HR recruiter regarding a screening for position. The dates include this Thursday( tomorrow), Friday and then next Monday.

I’m not available until next Monday. I know it is listed as only 30 minutes but I’m not sure if it would require cameras to be be on or not.

Does it matter if I push it until Monday or should I try and find a way to do it this week? I worry that the longer I wait they may pursue with someone else

Has anyone used Simulink in this industry? If so for what?

Just curious. Overheard some friends taking about it and was curious if anyone has used it and for what?

From what I’ve seen online it looks like it’s like a flowchart creator/blue print of a simulation?

Hey everyone. I have a take home assessment package part of my interview and they mentioned they want it done as soon as possible.

The package consists of Cad, report writing and analysis of said Cad. So pretty much make a model, apply loads and write a report about a given situation. The situation is something that they provided

My main concern is how through/detailed should all of this be? They ask for my thought process and what I would do. Makes it seem like I should speak in first person but I’ve never done that in any report.

I know the more the better so to say but I work 9 hours everyday then come home to family. I wasn’t given any expectations like “we expect 2 pages or so and 3 possible issues” or something like that.

This is my first time getting a take home assessment.

Also I should point out that I don’t have experience in this field of work but similar. I work in the automotive industry and this is for HVAC/Turbines. So I’m not sure if I’m allowed to google terminology and tie everything in?

My neighbor who is a renter had a car fire which burned the front of his house and you can see the burn marks but there is no impact to the structural integrity of the home.

This is a no HOA area. I am trying to sell my house and my agent told me 2 clients said they weren’t interested because the house has not been repaired

The fire happened 6 months ago so I doubt it will be repaired.

Not sure if this is a true thing but I doubt I can do anything about it

I’m interested in a few engineering positions in CA. I see that they state “clearance required prior to start US personnel required” or something along those lines

I am in US citizen eligible for a clearance. I don’t suspect any issues in regard to the process of maintaining or obtaining one

Does this mean that I cannot apply to those roles or do they initiate the clearance process prior to starting?
