Currently he's still recovering and should be back to prevent FCE zoomie zooms within no time.
We do have a gofundme setup to help with these challenging times. It will help him return to zoomie time faster too with the more physical therapy he receives!
Picture this, your dog grabs their favorite ball and waits patiently at the sliding back door for you to open it. Upon opening it your dog runs out to play their favorite game of fetch and before they even get past the concrete their back legs and tail quit working.
This was an unforgettable experience we went through mid morning February 28th, my wife's birthday too. Suddenly the whole day was spent at an animal hospital asking questions. We were told it could be FCE- Basically a spinal cord stroke, or a spinal injury that will require surgery (Thankfully it wasn't this, not that FCE is better though, but most dogs recover well but just have limb localization issues).
So far between MRI, Vet visits, Numerous medication/herbal supplements & Physical Therapy we have spent well over $8k and he still needs another 10 visits to physical therapy to hopefully get rid of some left over stiffness. Thankfully he is walking again although it is a bit wonkey. Luckily we were able to afford it and a bit of debt to take care of it.
Don't feel obligated to donate or anything. Biggest thing I want is for people to know about FCE and spend every day with their dog like it may be the last. We were fully prepared to go wheelchair route if he didn't have deep pain/motor function to regain.
Also if you're in Vet Neurology and a video of an FCE Event occurring could help you/spread more awareness please DM me. One of our security cameras caught the whole event, even our prompt rescue and him accidentally biting us from the excruciating pain he went through.
Any donations will help Kenobi and get you paw pictures to keep Kenobi from having to work the corner too much, even though he does love long walks, but can't go on super long ones currently.
