Cold emailing brands for partnerships/retainers, what’s actually working in 2026?
I have been deep in brand outreach lately and noticed a few things that consistently kill response rates:
Emailing the generic “info@” or “hello@” address, it never gets to a decision maker
Leading with follower counts or case studies before establishing relevance
No clear ask, “would love to connect!” isn’t a CTA
The emails that actually get replies are short, reference something specific about the brand, and make the value obvious in under 3 sentences. Domain reputation also matters more than people think, if you’re sending volume from your main domain and it’s getting flagged, your whole outreach dies quietly.
