It doesn't exactly disturb Elfaria's duties that much and creates unnecessary friction and drama for both of them.
In fact, having Will around her should give her motivation to continue her good work,or even serve as someone they can use as a hostage against her if she was defiant.
Why does Elfaria pin that hard for Will even early on before they took her to the tower? A lot of implied context hints that she had no one else as a emotional dependent,be it then,or now.
I get that it seems that things are "coldly corporate" as a Magia Vander up there and no one will really pity nor want to get close to her due to her status,but it feels like Elfaria is emotionally dependent on Will to an unnatural degree.
Part of me also wonders what exactly was the environment in the Orphanage that it left her pinning with Will that early on,with her seemingly also not really looking out for other children at the Orphanage,or even their "Father/Director of the orphanage" at the same time.
Because it looks strange to me: Elfaria being separated from Will is due to her not being able to take off days to visit him for some reason.
It has been at least 5 years since Elfaria went to be a Magia Vander. Other than letters,you think they would have at least tried something like calling Will if she really misses him that badly.
So basically, what's their dynamic? We get alot of timeskips, so we dont really know much about about how Will got into the academy and how they met.
And surprisingly, Will doesnt mourn the death of his friend when he just saw him get lethally stabbed and shattered in pieces after the battle with the demon. Was it just offscreened?
Edit:Additionally....is Rosti...gay for Will? He seems to be trying to stop girls from chasing Will for some reason.
