- Talks are underway to have Paul Curtis sign a "Roo for life" long term deal at North Melbourne

- Ethan Matthews (GWS academy tied) is a chance of fetching a top 10 bid in the draft

- Collingwood will be looking for a ruckman/tall forward in the upcoming mid-season draft due to the ACL injury for Oscar Steene

- Some more mid-season draft rumours: Jaxon Artemis is still expected to get to the Tigers

- Port Adelaide has interest in Alex Van Wyk

- Melbourne has interest in Xavier Bamert and Flynn Riley

- GWS is showing interest in Alex Mirkov

- Nic Staropoli and Tom McGuane are also earning interest from around the league

- Ben King's 2 year deal at Gold Coast which he's expected to sign does include a 6 year player option add on

- Toby Greene (GWS) is certainly considering moving back to Victoria, with Geelong the main club interested

- Zach Merrett is earning $650,000 a year at Essendon, likely the best value player on that salary.

- There's a 6 club queue for Lachie Neale (BRI). Collingwood, Adelaide, St Kilda, Brisbane, West Coast, Fremantle. He'd have to accept a lower salary and different role to join Freo

- Zac Bailey is "torn" on what to do in terms of accepting a lower deal at Brisbane to stay or move elsewhere (see title)

- It would require 2 first round picks as a starting point to make Gold Coast even consider trading Bailey Humphrey

- Darcy Wilson is likely to stay at St Kilda, Cal believes offers for him from other clubs are around the 800-850k a year mark

- Jordon Butts is likely to stay at Adelaide on a 4 year deal

- Bayley Fritsch, Tom Sparrow and Kade Chandler are all on the verge of re-signing at Melbourne

- Jed Walter has a 2 year offer on the table from the Suns, he's still expected to look at a move however

- Zane Duursma, Riley Hardeman and George Wardlaw are all expected to stay at North Melbourne, Wil Dawson is less certain however

- Tasmania has eyed a package deal for Sam Lalor (RIC) and Finn O'Sullivan (NM), as they're best mates and both available as free agents for the Devils. Both their respective clubs have begun talks about extensions though

- Jordon Butts has a 4 year offer on the table from Adelaide, however he's set to wait it out through the season. The Bulldogs are an active suitor for him

- Riley believes the "fire sale" at Carlton is about to begin. They're after more picks for this year's draft

- Zach Merrett's extension talks at Essendon have been put on hold until later in the year, Hawthorn are still keen on him, Cal believes Gold Coast are one to watch in that chase too

- Hawthorn believes they can recruit both Zach Merrett and Bailey Humphrey (GC) this off-season, Melbourne also has Humphrey as their No.1 target

- Devils VFL wingman Jaxon Artemis is priming to be the No.1 pick in the mid-season draft

- Kade Chandler has started talks on an extension at Melbourne

- Hawthorn interestingly hasn't started talks on an extension for UFA Mitch Lewis

- Darcy Wilson (STK) is the most "widely wanted" player of all out of contract players

- Riley believes Toby Greene will stay at GWS now that the Giants have upped their offer to 3 years. Although he is supposedly planning to move back to Melbourne at the conclusion of his playing career

- Cal believes Elijah Hewett (WCE) is a decent chance to be playing in Victoria next year, Sam Marshall (BRI) is also still expected to be in Victoria next year

- Joel Amartey does want to stay at Sydney, and the Swans have upped their offers for him to 4 or 5 years

- The AFL's view on the extra 2nd round pick for bottom 5 clubs when a bid is matched, is that clubs wouldn't tank for a pick that late

- Port Adelaide is still pushing for changes to the draft for 2027, arguing that Tasmania's picks shouldn't have a draft index value

- Nathan Broad is planning to leave Richmond at the end of the season to return to WA, no guarantee he plays for either WA club though

- Riley believes that the Bulldogs are being viewed around the league as a club that may need to move contracted players on to bring in Zak Butters (similar to the Swans moving Oliver Florent and Will Hayward on to bring in Curnow)

- Cal puts a line through Zak Butters joining the Demons

- Essendon F/S prospect Koby Bewick has met with the Tassie Devils, he's in the list of players they're able to pre-list at the end of this season

- Port Adelaide has given a pay rise to Jason Horne-Francis for his deal through to 2028

- Port Adelaide are still fuming about the new draft rules, which were revealed last night

- The AFL's view is that it was "now or never" with the draft changes

- Only clubs that finish in the bottom 5 can receive the extra 2nd round pick for getting your pick moved back due to bidding, clubs that trade up into the top 5 cannot receive that compensation

- The AFL has also locked in that Tasmania's picks for the 2027 draft will carry a points value

- The Suns have included a trigger in their 2 year offer to Ben King, where he can add 5-6 more years on at anytime

- Riley believes Ben King is 50/50 on staying at GC at the moment

- Cal doesn't think West Coast are as interested in Jed Walter (GC) as other clubs

- Sydney's offer to Joel Amartey is still only 2 years, the same as what they offered him last year
