Humble Pie
Level 38 rogue. Was farming heavy leather from the yetis up by arathi, decided to poke around by the elite ogres and maybe get the tome by the big level 40 elite. My buddy is in my ear the whole time “Dude don’t do it”, but I’m sitting there cheekily bragging about all the ‘GTFO’ options a rogue has.
He sees me through stealth, I vanish and dip out. Strike one. Figured I’d go down to Southshore and turn in my knucklebones. I’m feeling impatient so I sprint down the hill towards SS. Strike two. As I walk the trail daydreaming about running SM for my Sword of Serenity as I pet my cat, I run STRAIGHT into the Tarren Mill Deathguard as they come up the trail. Strike three. I didn’t react quick enough and I knew immediately that it was curtains for me. I was rightfully torn to shreds by LFG chat and my buddy.
TL;DR Even if you have plenty of tools in your kit to get you out of sticky situations, the moment you get cocky or complacent is the moment when the grim reaper comes a knockin’. Stay frosty lads. We go agane.
