Working out during fast and delayed protein intake question

Hello IF community, I'm looking for some input I couldn't find by reviewing other subs.

Does anyone work out during their fast (with weights) and delay their protein intake?

I've been in and out of the gym for many years and one thing I've always had drilled into me was to consume a high protein meal or supplement pretty well immediately after you work out.

Recently, I've been getting back into working out, but due to my current parental and work responsibilities, this occurs between 9-10pm. My typical IF schedule is 9pm-1pm fasting.

So my question is, what are the negatives to working out and then not having that immediate protein hit? My goal is to simply get the work out done a bit earlier so I can maintain my schedule but it doesn't always work.

TL;DR: is it counterproductive to work out and then not have protein for about 16hrs?
