Home renovation estimates?

I live in the North Ironbound section of Newark. Parents bought the current house I live in back in 2009. It’s a multi-family home and it was built back in 1890. We live on the first floor and basement, and we have neighbors living on the second floor and an attic unit. Issue is, it’s in rough shape. The house fire we had back in 2014 scorched a lot of the back part of the house so I literally have a chunk of exposed ceiling, walls are also exposed from this. We’ve had issues with mold, pipes freezing, and our floorboards are falling apart.

The house needs a lot of work. Is there any way I could get an estimate on home renovations or recommendations from companies that have experience fixing these issues? We’re probably not selling this house anytime soon, and honestly I’m tired of living in this state.

Hi all,

I’m looking to apply for NJ’s state police academy once I graduate college. I’m currently finishing up my first year of school and I am pursuing a criminal justice degree. I’m an athlete, and I would say I have strong morals and good character. Though I’m worried that I may get declined because of my mental health history. I’ve been battling against depression for probably a decade now, mostly from CSA. I also have PTSD, but it doesn’t affect my daily life. My depression has worsened, and I am looking to book an appointment with a psychiatrist to get medicated for it.

I am worried I may become ineligible if I do seek help, as it may appear on my record now that I’m an adult. So I’m reluctant to actually get the help I need if it toasts my potential career. I currently see a therapist, but I asked to be referred to a psychiatrist. I don’t know if being in therapy will also show up on my record.

Thank you.

Edit: Thank you to those that have replied already. To add on to this: I know that mental health is a case-by-case issue, I just don’t want to be immediately disqualified for something that wasn’t my fault. I am very resilient as a person and I am not prone at all to anger issues or lashing out at people, nor freaking out in high-stress situations. I’m very level-headed for what I’ve went through. I’m determined to get into NJSP.

Edit 2: I forgot to also say my main mental health problems were when I was 12-14. I am now 20, and will be 23 at time of application, if that matters.
