I never normally use masking fluid and certainly not this much, but I was unsure how I was going to obtain the dark background color i wanted while cutting around the people. I needed to paint the dark color quickly and in one wash to avoid it turning out splotchy. The masking fluid gave me the option of not having to worry about it.
