Orchids as garnish?

I tried to find information online but I couldn't find anything. I've noticed when I go to a particular Japanese restaurant, they garnish many of their plates with orchids.

I know orchid blooms don't last long so that got me thinking... do they have a sacrificial orchid that they pull blooms off of? or do they refrigerate blooms to keep them fresh? Obviously freezing orchid blooms will cause cellular damage, so how do they present me with a fresh bloom on every visit?

Now I'm just imagining a full wall of orchids in the back of this Japanese restaurant, right next to the sushi maker with blooms taken from each.. I'm sure this isn't the case.. so how do they do it?

I broke 100 and got my 1st birdie!

I know it doesn't seem like much, but I just started golfing at the end of last year. I'm not consistent, I don't go to the range as often as I probably should. I just go out and play, but I had to share my success with other people who know my excitement.

My husband and I snuck off this morning for a 7am tee time. He's testing out a new club, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to actually focus on my swings and track my score - not something I usually do.

I surprised myself by getting a birdie on a par 3, where my husband overshot and ended the hole with 5. My short drives were definitely playing on my behalf today.

At the end of the game he looked at me with this silly little smirk on his face like he'd just won by a hair, so I asked him what the final was.

98 for me, 102 for him.

I beat my husband for the first time, broke 100, and got a birdie all in the same day. I think I deserve a trip to the PGA store as a treat.
