Singing and strumming????

I've just started learning (its been 5 days) and while I've learnt a few strumming patterns, I've realised that unless i'm saying down down up down up etc in my head, my hands wont play the stings the right way. And so if i'm putting music on in the background, or trying to sing so that my chords are in time, my strumming hand just wont work. How do I overcome this??? Should I just practice strumming for a few weeks before even thinking about singing??? Any advice is appreciated.

Heyyyyyyy! So i've got no musical experience but ive got the urge to try learning the ukulele, as one does. I don't know anyone that plays so I cant ask anyone irl but what uke should I buy? I've got small hands, so maybe a soprano? But I think I prefer the sound of the concert????

I'm also really bad at committing to things, like ive got a pottery wheel, paint supplies and crochet projects all collecting dust because I get busy and forget to do them, so i dont want to spend too much money on my first uke.

I saw a few reasonably priced instruments online and was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if these are decent options. If I enjoy playing I will buy a nicer one in the future but right now im just looking to get started with something that wont frustrate me to the point of me quitting prematurely.

Thank youu

For anyone that has recently done the HPT, are they still using those crappy old videos that you find on the practice websites or have they moved on to the newer CGI? Ive gotten through all the older videos but idk if i should spend my time on the newer ones???
