Steve believes it is his responsibility to reconcile with any of the surviving black soldiers that were used to recreate the Super Soldier Serum
I really liked Emma's actions. This is genuinely something new, because mutants have mostly tried to develop nations independently (at least Utopia and Krakoa). Even when other superheroes could help, or like with Carol, who became an important X-Men ally, I don't recall them specifically focusing on establishing diplomatic alliances with other heroes on behalf of a mutant school or nation so that mutants wouldn't face future threats alone. Plus, as we know, Emma has a good relationship with Steve, so it makes sense she's helping him again. I wonder if these relationships will develop further, or if it's unlikely to reach full romantic involvement between Emma and Steve.
And thank you, Emma, for calling out the bias against telepathy and empathy. The prejudice against these two abilities without considering the context of the situation is genuinely exhausting, and Emma is absolutely right when she says it's no worse than using an empathic engine to find traumatized children and offer them schooling.
