My wife and I (both F and mid-30s) recently went to a Black alumni reunion at our college and had a great time. But coming back to Frederick really hit her hard. She realized that she doesn't have a community here, so she doesn't have a sense of belonging. She constantly feels other-ed at work too. That doesn't help.

We've tried looking on Facebook and googling, but we don't see any active Black community groups here in Frederick. Are we not looking hard enough? Is it just not there yet?

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. Thank you.
