which OUAT villain do you think had the best redemption arc

in my opinion it’s either regina or hook. for hook i feel like he just stopped considering himself a villain after he met emma. in fact in the S4 finale when all the villains got their happy endings and the heroes suffered, he didn’t get his happy ending, he was working for blackbeard and i don’t think enough people talk about that enough. he started looking out for other people and risked his life. he also felt horrible about >!what he did to ariel!< in between season 3A and 3B.

regina might’ve had ups and downs and even if she wasn’t the best mother, there was no doubt that she did love henry more than anything. she genuinely wanted to change and made an effort to. she had countless opportunities to kill marian >!who ended up being zelena!< but she still didn’t. it was the only thing standing in between her and her happy ending but she felt it was wrong and that showed growth. she also forgave emma for bringing her back instead of spending years trying to kill her and ruin her life.

how old was neal when he first met emma

so i’ve seen a lot of discourse on this and want to set it straight. it’s canon that he was 23 when he left her but i think that’s crazy considering he looks 30 when they met. the aging down thing didn’t work with him and i get it but still it kind of ruined the setting.

we know he was 14 when rumple became the dark one and was with him for about a year before he spent 6 months with the darlings and eventually went to neverland. that tells us he was 16-ish when he went. ignoring how long he spent in neverland without aging, i think he must’ve spent at least a decade in the land without magic before he met emma. so that leaves us with 26, and emma was 18 when they first went out so… there’s that.

maybe no one cares but me but i was just curious and tried to do the math. might’ve missed some details so let me know

did anyone skip any season during their first watch

For me, i originally skipped most of season 3 which is crazy since i love that season. it felt like the peter pan storyline went on forever. keep in mind i was 10 back then and loved frozen so got really excited when i found out it was the plot of the next season. back then i didn’t know about the two parter thing in seasons of OUAT. needless to say, i was quite confused but i still didn’t go back and watch until i finished the rest of the series. i feel like that taught me that pretty much all shows have highs and lows and it’s impossible to make everyone happy. curious to know if anyone else did it or if i just had a really short attention span lmao

David’s weird comments about having a daughter

i love david as a character but something that was always weird to me was how he always made comments about having a son. this happened both with emma and neal 2 when snow was pregnant. his mom said something about him wanting a son but a daughter would also do too. maybe i’m reading too much into it but as some one who grew up in a society where boys were prioritised over girls even as kids i felt it was a little odd and it made me uncomfortable. maybe it’s nothing but i’m interested to hear your views on it
