Moment of appreciation for the current West End cast (and my red flower fit for the occasion 🌹)
I saw Hadestown on Broadway NYC a few months ago- went in completely blind, unknowing that the show would completely change me (esp with the Jack Wolfe cast- wowza I cried my eyes out). So I made sure I got to London last night- 24 hours only- just so I could see it on the West End!
The entire cast was incredible. Orpheus’ cracky calm voice that turned into a beautiful belt during songs like Wait for Me and If it’s True, I loved Euridyce’s soft melodic voice that really highlighted her beautiful accent. Persephone was so talented, as well as Hermes-but the real star of the show was Hades. Holly HELL! He ROARED his songs. He really made up a bitter, angry-but second guessing, really showing the hidden compassion towards Orpheus- SO well. I think it’s the best Hades I have seen out of all the clips from other casts.
Highly recommend checking this cast out before the exist.
