I own a 2024 xc 40recharge. When I go surfing, I would love it if I could just keep my phone, wallet and the fob key in the car, and just take the small metal key that is inside the fob with me (my wetsuit has a small pocket for that).

However, I tried it, and I find it hard to fully lock the car with it; when I pull the handle enough to fit the key in the hole, it seems to also open the door a bit, so that when I twist the key, it is closed, but it still looks like there's a small space. That does not feel fully secure to me and it seems like a car thief might be able to take advantage of that.

Any advice on locking the car from the outside with the physical key?
