When I went to my dentist for monthly adjustment, pinalitan lang niya new rubber and wire. Is that normal?

Once lang niya ginawa yun na walang procedure bago mag adjust, diretso tanggal and kabit lang ng new wire and rubber. Nung ibang monthly adjustments naman nililinisan niya muna mabilisan before lagyan ng new rubber and wire.
