Do you feel cheated by the pension system?
If you compare and research the system a bit you might conclude that German pension system is designed to provide pretty low pensions, bordering on the poverty lines. The ones that do work at not well paid jobs will end up in a situation comparable to people that worked very little, only some money will come from different pots, but it's a very similar sum.
On the other side, high earners get a pretty low bar for contributions, making them responsible for their own pensions through investments etc. but they don't have a similar bar for taxes that will fund social contributions.
Somehow it feels that the system is skewed towards the benefit of long term unemployed, at the expanse of the worker.
Even more insult to injury is that high earner has to finance a social system that will never ever be of benefit to him if he's prudent and has property.
Am I crazy to see it this way?
