Today’s conditions are more than good and even wife decided to join me! 😁 (She does every time actually)

Hey!

I decided to take my hobby a bit further and got myself a cooled ZWO astro camera, ASIAIR Plus, ZWO autofocuser, and an Optolong L-Ultimate filter.

After spending a few hours outside setting everything up for the first time, I had about one hour left to try capturing Thor’s Helmet before it disappeared below the horizon. It’s definitely not perfect and there isn’t much data, but I’m still really happy with it — it’s my first nebula that actually looks like something.

Originally, I didn’t even plan to stack it, I just wanted to test things and get a preview. But today I finished my dark library and decided to see what I could pull out of it, even without flats and biases.

At least now I have a rough idea of the workflow, so next time I’ll just wait for a clear night and gather more data!
