Is the Hybrid worth it?
So, I've pretty much decided on a Corolla Cross for my next car. I'm upgrading from a 2007 Nissan Altima, but I'm trying to figure out if it's worth saving up for a hybrid or just going with a gas model.
I'm a college student, looking to graduate in 2027, in a pretty big city, but a lot of the driving I do is on highways. I love a good ~3hr road trip, but I also do a bit of city driving. I've never had a hybrid car, and I guess I generally prefer the look of the front end of the gas model but I'm not too picky about it.
If I went with the gas model, I'd get the XLE for sure. With the hybrid, I think the XSE is a little bit out of my price range so I would go with the SE. Is it worth the "downgrade" on the bells and whistles for the hybrid model? Really, the main thing pulling me towards it is the increased gas mileage and what I've heard makes it a smoother ride?
I'm not sure where to start looking for input on this, so really any and all opinions are welcome.
