Out of the total intake of around 1k people excluding bpharm and mnc why only around 530 people are placed which is around 53-54% placement percentage isn’t that less for Pilani campus? Even if i consider 100-150 students to go further studies and 40-50 for misc. startup and all and 90-100 who did not graduate still its missing like 100-150 students why so less? And if the placement is still ongoing then why post cuz its literally half the people

Regarding the recent posts on this sub on placements

How are these stats compared to top tier nits like trichy or surathkal and also top tier and mid tier iits?? Asking cuz i am not prepping for adv never did and planning to take dual at bits, money is not an issue but need to choose between top nits and bits as placements is my main priority. Please dont downvote

EDIT: I searched multiple sources but harr jagah bahut variation hai stats mei even chat gpt and gemini bhi bahut diff results dete and these colleges dont officially release any stats + idk anyone from these colleges so yea asked from seniors

Where did engineering go wrong??

3 yrs ago when i was given a option to choose my stream from class 10th to 11th i was clearly very interested in science specifically physics and i was decent in maths so took pcm even though i wasnt really good at memorising but still i loved studying chemistry as well and mainly love the theory of the chapters and the science behind everything. Days passed and then i realised that i also really would like to perform these science experiments in labs and everything i loved seeing the science behind everything on youtube but then i realised schools does not provide you with enough resources to do this and then i searched and found out that college is where i can do this but for that i need the best colleges in india like top tier iits and then after rigorous solving of ques day and night i scored 90%ile last yr and knew i didnt even qualify for the cutoff so decided to take a drop and scored 98 this yr but just when i saw this subreddit on reddit all i see is mainly coding and jobs talks like as if engineering college is a factory for job, i never see even a single person mentioning anything about engineering and as if branches other than cse or max ece is non existent. After 3 yrs of hardwork for my dream of studying btech and learning engineering not cuz i want packages and just wanna get a job but cuz i really wanted to and love doing engineering but all i see is people going for a rat race for software jobs even when idk many like it or not. Dont get me wrong i agree everybody needs job and i would do it too I am not talking about research or further studies after btech but doing btech cuz you really love it and have interest in science, physics, maths or chem but where did it all go wrong that now while comparing colleges you can see 90% youtube channels or people compare it with literally placements and never about education. Is this only why people choose pcm in 11th btech in any college any branch just to land in a job then why not open a factory where people just study how to get job why is everyone studying in btech colleges when at the end you have nothing to do with what you study and just go back code on your laptop. WHERE DID ENGINEERING GO WRONG?? :(
