Hi, I am Anders Odden and new here. I am tired of Facebook and all other social media so I wanted to find people who actually care about topics I care about. I have been creating a new extensive website about the Norwegian black metal scene. This page called the familiytree is the most important page on the site. https://norwegianblackmetal.no/family-tree It is still developing, but give a new and better insight in how all the bands from Norway are connected. I hope people here will enjoy this feature. Feel free to ask questions. Thank you.
Hey everyone,
With festival season fast approaching, I know a lot of metalheads are making their pilgrimage to Norway. Because of that, I wanted to share a passion project of mine with this community.
I run a historical bus tour in Oslo and around focused entirely on the early 90s True Norwegian Black Metal scene. There are so many myths, rumors, and sensationalized stories out there, but my main goal with this tour is to preserve and share the real history—specifically following in the footsteps of Euronymous, Dead, and the birth of Mayhem.
We dive deep into the physical locations where the genre was actually shaped. The tour includes:
Program & Route
The journey takes place in a high-end minibus ("The Black Coach") with premium comfort.
10:15: Meet up (Departure strictly at 10:30)
10:30: Departure from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), Track 19 (Bus stop)
11:00: Langhus Station – The cradle of Mayhem
11:30: The Mayhem House in Kråkstad – Where Dead (Per Yngve Ohlin) lived and died
12:00: Ski Cemetery – A visit to the grave of Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth
12:45: Tøyengata 40 A – Where the story of Euronymous ended in 1993
13:00: Helvete / Neseblod Records – The epicenter of the genre
13:30: Arrival at Tons of Rock, Ekeberg (Drop-off right by the festival gates)
Just to be fully transparent: I am the organizer of this tour. I’ve put a lot of time and respect into this because I wanted to create the exact kind of authentic experience I’d look for myself when visiting a city with such a monumental musical heritage.
If anyone is interested in joining, especially around the Tons of Rock dates, you can find more info and tickets here: https://norwegianblackmetal.no/unholy-16
Feel free to ask if you have any questions about the tour or just need some general recommendations for metal spots in Oslo. Cheers! 🤘
