I purchased the 3000 psi brushless greenworks unit, it arrived yesterday. Didn't look refurbished, the box was in good condition and all of the packaging seemed original. I assembled it and hooked it up to the hose, was very careful to purge air from the garden hose itself, and then the machine after the pressure hose and wand were connected. I also made sure that all connections were tight. When I started the machine, it seemed to start normally and the motor seemed to be running well, and then the problems started. When I used the various angle tips the pressure just seemed.. underwhelming. I could comfortably put my hand into the stream less than ten inches from the nozzle tip. I tried letting it run and spray for awhile to see if it maybe needed to break in slightly in order to make the correct pressure. It really struggled to remove surface grime from my siding. After a few minutes, the motor seemed to start bogging down, almost like a poorly idling gas engine. It then stopped running altogether without switching the power off. I got it going again after unplugging it from the wall outlet and into another one (not sure if that made any difference, but I recently purchased my house and I know all of my outlets to be in good condition). I then attempted to wash my car with the turbo tip, which was unable to even remove dead insects from my bumper. My hose bibs have those weird aerator things on them, but when my garden hose is running it delivers water consistently and without air pockets or anything, I even checked to see how firm the garden hose was while the machine was drawing water from it and it didn't collapse or anything all that seemed normal. When I watch reviews for other similar washers, they don't seem to be making noticeably more pressure or anything, but they clearly do a much better job. Is this just a mediocre product, and are my expectations too high? Or is mine just defective? I've already started the return process with Amazon since either way I have no use for this machine but don't want to continue to waste my money and be disappointed by similar products. I hope mine is just a dud.. I really don't want a gas powered one.
