Looking for anyone that could help me or guide me that's in my area or maybe if you just have any advice.

I've wanted to be a firefighter for the last couple years it's a job and career where I can see myself really thriving and making a difference. I'm 26 years old, 6'2 and very healthy and in shape. I eat right and work out everyday pretty much. I ran my first marathon a couple of months ago and prioritize strength training as well. I don't know if that's relevant in recruitment but I thought I'd add that here just in case.

I don't have any firefighter certification which I could see as a problem or I guess a way that I'd be looked over. I've applied to a couple fire departments back home before I moved and didn't get selected. I scored higher in the qualifying exams than most, I believe mid 90s both times so I was in the top 5. I also passed both fitness exams and I got an interview for one of them but didn't get selected. The other department called me back for an interview months later but I had already moved to Austin.

Am I being passed just because of certification or is there something else I can do?

I believe I possess the physical traits of a firefighter, I have the intellectual ability as well. I come from a good background as well went to college for associates almost finished just need 2 more classes. Have been in banking, financial services, real estate so I believe I have the professionalism as well.

Do I have a chance if I apply? Ideally I would like to work in Round round, cedar park, and then Austin in that order because of pay.

I hope this helps I don't mean to sound cocky or anything I'm just really interested in becoming a firefighter and I think I can bring a lot to help people.
