Drunk driving is increasing so much at night in the city. People have zero sense. Using bright strong high beam lights , driving in wrong way, overtaking , honking, wrong parking, wrong u turns , running red lights. This city used to be so beautiful with high IQ people but it has degraded in last few years.
You go to any railway crossing in the whole city and you will come to know how stupid and illiterate the people are.
People are using red and blue lights and sirens of police on their normal civil cars.
There is no traffic police in the whole city.

Utter non sense and disappointment.

Hi everyone,
I’m moving to Tucson soon to start work as a doctor and I’m currently trying to decide between three specific apartment complexes. The online reviews are quite mixed, so I was hoping to get some honest, local perspectives before I sign a lease.
The three places I’m looking at are:

  • The Hilands Apartment (5755 E River Rd)
  • Cortland Sunriver Apartments (5100 N La Cañada Dr)
  • The Benedictine Apartments (800 N Country Club Rd)

Since my job involves long hours and I often have to sleep during the day, I have a few non-negotiable priorities:

  • Low Noise Levels: A quiet community is essential for post-call sleep. (I’ve heard the Benedictine might be getting noisier due to a new venue/restaurant on-site—is this true?)
  • Gated Access & Safety: I'll be coming and going at odd hours (late nights/early mornings), so a secure, gated environment is a must.
  • Covered Private Parking: Protecting my car and having a guaranteed, safe spot.
  • Reliable AC & In-Unit Laundry: High-quality appliances and effective cooling are top priorities.

A few notes on my search:

  • Living Situation: I am looking to live alone. I am not interested in shared housing or roommates, so I’d appreciate suggestions for 1-bedroom or studio units only.
  • Budget: Budget is not a major constraint for me. I’ve noticed most of these places range from $1,000 to $1,500, which aligns well with what I’m looking to spend for a quality place.

If you have lived in any of these recently, how do they actually stack up against these priorities? Are the gates actually kept closed? Is maintenance responsive?
Also, if you have any other suggestions for good, quiet, and secure apartment complexes in Tucson that would be a good fit for a healthcare professional, please let me know!
Thanks in advance for the help!
