Think Twice before buying anything Hyundai

Leased a brand new 2026 Hyundai Palisade. Within a month the engine lost power and the car started violently shaking on the freeway at 70mph with my family inside. Took it to the dealer - they found fault codes, called it normal, and sent me home.

Same thing happened again on the freeway weeks later.

Dropped it off at the dealer. They had it for 44 days.

In those 44 days — they could not reproduce the problem, they blamed my gas without properly testing it, they tried to charge me to drain fuel that actually tested fine, and Hyundai corporate engineers got involved and applied a mystery software update to the engine computer that even the dealer has no access to and cannot explain.

Car came back 44 days later. No one knows what caused it. No one knows what was actually fixed. The dealer's own notes say zero misfires were found during testing and hyundai field rep put a special update to the ECM. They put me and my family twice at risk and potentially again.

Any advice on next steps is highly appreciated.
