What else can I cook in a rice cooker?

I'm thinking about buying a rice cooker, but I'm not a fan of kitchen appliances that only have one function.

So, a few questions:

What else could I cook in it besides rice? I’m thinking specifically of other grains or lentils… Would that work?

And is it really worth it, in the end? I’m particularly wondering about the energy consumption of this type of appliance compared to cooking on electric or induction stovetops...

Thanks in advance for your answers!
