My wide excision surgery few weeks before, day after and 23 days after surgery

Everything seems to be fine so far, doctor removed everything (a whole tunnel (channel as we call it here), and some tissue around it), but just in the middle of the scar there is a hard spot and I’m scared that disease is coming back, but doctor said after this kind of wide excision it is unlikely to come back soon.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

My mother has Disc Herniation at L4-S1 levels, I’m looking for some home exercises and overall advice.

As the title says.

Sympthoms started showing 2 months ago, but she got diagnosed just 2 days ago.

Pain killers and vitamins didn’t help.

She’s going to se neurogical surgeon in the next few weeks.

We are really scared of possibility of surgery, so If anyone has any experience with this kind of problem and can give me and my mom any type of advice I would be really thankful.

Main question: are there any home exercises to ease the pain, because pain killers are not doing anything.

Also, does anyone know what are the chances of her dealing with this problem without surgery.

Here is her medical report:

**At the L4–L5 level:**

There is a broad-based central, bilateral foraminal, and left extraforaminal protrusion of the intervertebral disc, which significantly indents the ventral contour of the dural sac. Along with facet joint hypertrophy and thickening of the ligamentum flavum, it reduces the width of the lateral recesses and neural foramina, with involvement of the L5 nerve roots on both sides.

**At the L5–S1 level:**

There is a broad-based central, bilateral intra- and extraforaminal disc protrusion, which indents the ventral contour of the dural sac. In combination with facet hypertrophy, it narrows the lateral recesses and neural foramina, with involvement of the S1 nerve roots on both sides. On the right side, an extraforaminal disc–nerve root conflict affecting the L5 nerve root is visible.
