Kangaroo Backcountry Boots!

I finally got a pair of Russell’s in my size (12D)! I just finished cleaning them up a little and used a touch of Obenauf’s on some dryer spots.

These were originally called the “Krymp-A-Roo” boots as seen in the Facebook screenshot attached. They were a higher end model of the shorter bird shooter design that they now call the back country design

They are made of kangaroo leather, with aqua-tan cow leather linings in the uppers. They also have brass speed laces to get them on and off faster and an oak leather heel counter.

Based on the wayback machine of Russell’s website, these stopped being produced around 2016 and were very expensive compared to the other models at the time.

They smell amazing for boots at least 10 years old! One of my favorite lesser known benefits of footwear made of only leather is that, when allowed to breathe, they never start to stink unlike all other synthetic materials!

I also bought a pair of 11.5D Big Cambo boots with green leather accents, really hoping those fit as well!
