Is my soil recipe OK?
Planning to do an organic living soil outdoor grow this season.
All these materials I already had available so if I can improve this soil without having to buy stuff that would be awesome.
All photoperiods, popping seeds and starting indoor in rock wool under a lamp until they are hearty and then burying the rock wool straight in the soil (no pots).
Here is my recipe so far
12 gal Roots organic potting soil
(Contains worm castings, peat moss, coco, perlite, guano)
2 gal perlite
1 gal coco choir
1.5 gal finished compost
1.5 gal local top soil (can add more, it’s rather clay/sand rich and poorly aerated)
1 gal bokashi co-composted bio char
Half container of molasses
1 gal oyster mushroom substrate (inoculated saw dust)
Mychorizal inoculant
15 tsp Gaia green 444
60 red wrigglers
I am considering adding:
Crushed lava rock for aeration
Bokashi fermented food scraps
Aerated compost tea and a bokashi tea during first top dress
More finished compost
Should I just mix everything together or would layering be beneficial?
I also may need more aeration but I’m hoping the perlite, biochar, lava rock and worms is enough.
All advice welcome.
