Herman Miller is goated and it finally completes my WFH setup

After a lot of research, hesitation, and second-guessing, I finally completed my ergonomic work-from-home setup with the HM Mirra, and I can confidently say: I should have done this much earlier.

So initially, the seller pushed me to go for the Leap V2 because he didn't have the Mirra model that I wanted, and he offered me an exchange proposal stating that I should try out the Leap V2, give it a fair shot for two to three days, and if I don't like it, he'll source the Mirra and exchange it.

I tried out the Leap V2 for eight hours and honestly, it did not suit me at all. I had constant back pain, and I called him up immediately telling him I want to exchange it, and the Mirra is really a game changer.

My back already feels so much better. Even though the Mirra is refurbished ($150) it feels sturdy, and it is giving me the back support I need. I purchased a standing desk to make sure I stand every once in a while.

Finally my WFH setup is complete!

After a lot of research, hesitation, and second-guessing, I finally completed my ergonomic work-from-home setup, and I can confidently say: I should have done this much earlier.

My setup:

  • Herman Miller Mirra 1 with adjustable backrest - refurbished(Bought today)
  • Artikel standing desk (Bought 3 days ago)

Both were expensive purchases for me, which is exactly why I kept delaying them for so long. I spent months trying to convince myself that a cheaper setup would be “good enough.”

Last Year, I also bought The Sleep Company Onyx chair, and honestly, that ended up being a mistake for my use case. It felt fine initially, but once I switched to a proper ergonomic chair, I immediately understood the difference.

The comfort, support, adjustability, and overall sitting experience are on another level. Especially during long workdays, the difference becomes very obvious. Now I genuinely feel like I can’t go back to regular “gaming” or budget ergonomic chairs anymore.

AMA about the set

EDIT:
Since a lot of you have asked multiple times about the setup and what elements am I using, I have added the links over here below. Feel free to drop in any questions that you might have about them.
Monitor Arm.
The monitor arm, depending on the weight of your monitor, it does have a bit of sag, but I don't really mind it.

Desk Light Link
FYI, the desk light has a few bugs where I did find that if I tried to put it on the warmest light, it does not go to the lowest brightness. It always has to be on the highest brightness, but I figured a workaround for that

Hey folks,

I’m looking to buy a new chair for my setup with a budget of around ₹15K.

I’ve been using a Sleep Company Onyx chair, but after replacing the locking mechanism, it now only locks in one position instead of multiple tilt angles. On top of that, it starts irritating my left hip if I sit for more than 30 minutes, so I end up switching to a basic Nilkamal chair.

At my office, we currently use a Transteel chair that has a design similar to a Featherlite Anatom, and I find that setup fairly comfortable.

I’ve found a few local stores offering refurbished Herman Miller Aeron chairs in the ₹12.5K - ₹15K range, which seems tempting.

Also, I’ll be upgrading to a standing desk next week, so I’m wondering if that changes what I should go for.

Would love to hear your suggestions or experiences - especially if anyone has used the Aeron in this price range.
