Hey everyone, I know this sub gets a lot of VG-8 questions (sorry 😅), but it seems like the best place to ask. I’m definitely chasing that Mk.gee-type tone, not gonna lie.

I found a VG-88 locally for about $170 USD (no GK pickup included), which seems like a pretty good deal.

My main question is:

How different is the VG-88 compared to a VG-8 Expanded in terms of sound and capabilities?

I know Mk.gee uses the VG-8 Expanded, but I’m wondering if the VG-88 can get into a similar territory, or if it’s a completely different vibe.
