Early trip planning questions

Before I dive too deep into planning, wanted to get some initial advice.

I’m going to be on a small ship (10 passengers) touring the Lofoten archipelago in September. I need to arrive in Svolvaer by Sept 14 and we disembark on the 24th.

I have distant relatives in Hegra (north of Trondheim) so at a minimum will spend some time in that area. I also have a friend from Germany that I plan to meet in Oslo at the very end of the trip.

My initial thought was to fly into Oslo and then on to Lofoten (either SVJ or EVE) and give myself a day or

two to recover from jet lag (flying from west coast of US) before the ship tour and then head on the solo portion of the trip afterwards, first to Trondheim and potentially Bergen and southern fjords on my way back to Oslo.

First question is whether that sequence makes sense or whether there’s a reason to flip it. Since I’ll be traveling solo, thought it might be better to get more acclimated to time zone before taking on the driving.

Second question is whether I’m trying to pack too much in by adding Bergen and the southern fjords into the trip.

Finally, how much time to allot. If I just add Trondheim was thinking 7-10 days post cruise for Trondheim and Oslo. And probably another 5-7 days if I added the fjords.

I’m retired, so have flexibility on number of days for the total trip.

Any feedback and thoughts are welcome!
